These hot cross bun jaffles are beyond tasty
Here’s a thought: take a hot cross bun, fill it with delicious goodies and toast it in a jaffle pan until it goes all crispy and oozy. It’s a nice thought, no?
1. Savoury showstopper
Take some Woolworths Extra Spicy Hot Cross Buns and slice them open. Fill each bun with a thick slice of Gorgonzola, sliced baby figs and Parma or Serrano ham. Close the hot cross bun sandwich, brush the outsides with melted butter and place in the jaffle pan. Place over a gas cooker or on the braai and toast until oozy and delicious.
2. Sweet sensation
Take some Woolworths Fruit Free Hot Cross Buns, slice open and add a dollop of chocolate spread to each. Add sliced oranges to a pan and caramelise briefly in 1 tablespoon of butter and a drizzle of honey until soft and sticky. Add the orange slices to the buns, sprinkle with chopped pistachios, close the bun and toast in a jaffle pan until oozy. Dig in! (By the way, both of these options would go really well with a glass of bubbles, #justsaying.)
