Indonesian pork skewers

Ingredients
- 8 wooden skewers, soaked in water
- 800 g pork steaks, cut into 16 medallions
- 3/4 cup condensed milk
- 2 ml turmeric
- 2 tbsp curry powder
- 3/4 tsp finely ground white pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp White sugar
- 2 tbsp soya sauce
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 125 ml coconut milk

Cooking Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring the coconut milk, fish sauce, soya sauce, sugar, salt, pepper, curry powder and turmeric to a boil, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 – 15 minutes.
- Transfer the sauce to a large bowl and allow to cool, then stir in the condensed milk. Season with salt and white pepper.
- Add the pork medallions to the sauce and toss, massaging the meat with your hands. Cover and chill for 1 hour.
- Prepare the grill on a medium to high heat.
- Drain the pork and thread the medallions onto the skewers.
- Cook the pork skewers on the braai or under a grill for about 5 – 8 minutes, turning occasionally, until lightly charred and cooked through.
