Carl Schultz has made stellar wines in his 28 years at Hartenberg Estate and this Shiraz is a perfect example. Composed of remnant portions of Hartenberg's flagship Shiraz sites, a blend of gravel and deep, clay-rich soils combined with 18 months oak barrel ageing makes for a rich, complex wines. Perfumed notes with violet, pepper, and a richness bursting with dark fruit and soft, sweet tannins. The finish is long and persistent.
