Butter chicken is also known as Murgh Makhani and originated in Delhi but has eveolved into various versions globally. It is known for its mild, rich flavour with savoury warm aromatic spices and curry leaves.

RECIPE SUGGESTION

Butter Chicken Recipe

• Ingredients: 2 tbsp oil; 4 tbsp (60 g) butter; 400 g mini chicken fillets, cut into 2 or 3 pieces; 2 ½ tbsp (18 g) spice ; 1 tin (70 g) Woolworths sofrito paste; 250 ml chicken stock (Woolworths liquid concentrate stick diluted as per pack instructions) ; 125 ml Woolworths fresh pouring cream ; ¼ tsp sugar
  Fresh coriander, chopped (optional)
• Method: Heat the oil and butter on medium heat ; Add the chicken and spice and fry for 5 minutes. ; Add the tomato paste and fry for 3-5 minutes, stirring continuously.; Add the chicken stock on a medium heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring often. Add the cream and simmer for a further 10 minutes on a low-medium heat, stirring often. Add the sugar, and season with more salt and sugar to taste. ; Garnish with fresh coriander.
