Our India Inspired Vindaloo Cook-in-Sauce with Garam Masala Spice Blend is a savoury, spicy and tangy sauce with a finishing spice. Vindaloo began as "carne de vinho e alhos", meaning “ meat in wine with garlic” and was brought to Goa by the Portuguese. The dish was adapted by the Goans, removing the wine and adding spices, creating what is now known as vindaloo.

 

HOW TO USE

  • Add lamb or beef.
  • Serve with basmati rice or naan and poppadums and any pickles and chutneys. 
  • Oil will separate on standing, stir through before use. 
  • Ready in 35 mins on stove top
  • Serves 3 - 4

RECIPE SUGGESTION

  • Lamb Vindaloo Curry
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil; 400 g Woolies Free Range lamb cubes (boneless); fresh coriander to garnish (optional)
  • Heat oil to medium-high heat, in a medium saucepan. Add the lamb cubes and fry for 6 minutes. Add the contents of the jar of sauce. Rinse the remaining sauce with 100 ml of water and add this to the pan. Reduce the heat and cook for 30 minutes (lid on) until the lamb is cooked through and tender. Add the spice blend and cook for a further minute with the lid off. Season to taste.
  • Serve with basmati rice, poppadoms and freshly chopped coriander, with any of the Woolworths pickles or chutneys of your choice.
